History

Formed in February 2004, the Indiana Health Information Exchange was founded by a unique collaboration of institutions to extend the infrastructure and software built by Regenstrief Institute scientists into clinical settings. Key support has come from BioCrossroads, which provided capital and in-kind resources and Indianapolis' five hospital systems, which were the first to use IHIE's flagship service, the DOCS4DOCS® service.
