The DOCS4DOCS® Service

The DOCS4DOCS® service is an independent, community-based clinical messaging service. It electronically delivers test results and other clinical information securely and efficiently. Approximately 7,200 physicians send approximately one million messages each month.

IHIE continues to expand its network and is working with many other hospitals throughout Indiana to implement the DOCS4DOCS® service.

Because of the wide-spread use of DOCS4DOCS® service throughout Indiana, IHIE has been recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General and the U.S. Health & Human Services as one of the nation's most respected health information exchanges.

How it works:

Clinicians can log into their DOCS4DOCS® service account from any participating hospitals' web portal. Users have access to 24/7 support from our help desk at 317.644.1752, 877-HELP-D4D or helpdesk@ihie.com.

The help desk provides assistance with:

• User set-up and registration
• Training
• Practice changes, such as address or phone number
• Practice update, such as adding new or deleting users and providers
• Delivery and results questions
• General questions

DOCS4DOCS® service benefits:

• 24/7 help desk for technical support and tracking results
• No cost to providers
• Consistent report format with key information such as the patient's name located in the same place
• Secure, electronic communications to other providers - they can forward results with comments or annotation to other providers
• Single source for results
• Results stored for a minimum of two years for future reference
• Results can be accessed from any computer with internet access using your secure login
• Fewer repeated tests for patients, enhanced patient/physician communications.
