"When we implemented IHIE's service, we saw a reduction of 90-95% in paper volume for outpatient lab results. This has saved us money, printer expenses and manpower."

IHIE Services

IHIE provides an interoperable, standards-based health information infrastructure that plugs the gap to directly address the lack of access and coordination of clinical information that can result in errors, misdiagnoses, patient safety issues, cost inefficiencies and other wastefulness.

By bridging the gap between paper-based and electronic-based medical offices, IHIE has created a secure network that can be used by physicians who have IT systems and those who do not have IT systems, providing reach to even the small or rural physician practices—the setting where over 80% of care is delivered and the places least likely to have adopted an electronic medical records system.

By delivering clinical information at the most critical time, the point-of-care, IHIE’s goal is to align transparency, efficiency and quality to improve patient health.

IHIE’s DOCS4DOCS service provides health information in near real-time where and when it needs to be for patient care (to emergency departments, outpatient centers and ambulatory practices).

Since 2004, over 50 million test results and other clinical information have been delivered to physicians. The DOCS4DOCS service can help eliminate duplicate tests because of lost results, or results not getting to providers in time, and provides reports in a consistent format to increase the speed and safety of patient care.

The Indiana Health Information Exchange provides its uses with a 24/7 Help Desk and a seamless one-call policy, in close collaboration with our associated healthcare data providers, to promote a quick resolution to user questions.

Clinicians can log into their DOCS4DOCS® service account from any participating hospitals' web portal or the Indiana Health Information Exchange's secure portal. Users have access to 24/7 support from our help desk at 317.644.1752, 877-435-7343 or helpdesk@ihie.com.

The Quality Health First program is made possible through IHIE’s partnership with the Regenstrief Institute, Inc. which runs the nation’s most advanced and secure community health record system. This groundbreaking system, called the Indiana Network for Patient Care (INPC), powers the data used in the QHF program reports.

The goal of the QHF program is that patients will experience fewer health complications and physicians will see better adherence to evidence-based medical practices and will have more satisfaction with healthier patients. Employers will have a more productive and healthier workforce while payers will see a reduction in healthcare costs.
