Harold J. Apple

Mr. Apple took the helm in January 2011 as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Indiana Health Information Exchange, the nation's largest health information exchange organization. He leads the organization’s overall strategy and direction and examines new growth opportunities. IHIE connects the state's hospitals, physicians, long-term care facilities and other healthcare providers, enabling medical information to follow patients regardless of treatment location to improve care coordination and patient outcomes. Physicians in the IHIE network provide care to over ten million patients.

Apple was formerly the majority owner, CEO and President of Vector Technologies, Inc., a business process outsourcer, consulting, and software development company in the life insurance sector. In 2003 a minority interest in one of Vector’s subsidiaries was sold to a major international reinsurance company in order to form the basis for establishing a “paperless straight through processing” outsourcing business. The businesses were sold to a publicly traded international technology company in Mumbai, India. Several major life insurance companies in the United States, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong continue to use Vector’s primary product, a complex policy administration system.

Additionally, he was one of the founders of Indiana Software Association and the Indiana Information Technology Association, both predecessors of TechPoint.

Mr. Apple attended American University and Indiana University. He is a graduate of the Program for Growing Companies at Stanford University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Owners and President Management Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
